The 2003 Dessert Contest Winner

Crosley Chocolate Chip Cookies

Preheat oven to 375° (the trick to these cookies is to make sure the oven is up to temperature before cooking)

Cream:
1 cup butter or margarine

Gradually add and beat until creamy:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar

Beat in:
1 egg (if you want o make a half- batch you can still use 1 egg)
1 tsp. vanilla

Stir in:
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Stir in:
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 ½- 2 cups chocolate chips

Drop batter from a teaspoon. Bake about 10 minutes. Cool briefly and place on a wire rack.
