OBJECTIVE:
Build an Egg-Capsule to withstand an impact against Bowling pins & knock over the most pins.

RULES:
1.You will have 25 minutes to complete this problem. You must work within eyesight of the judges. Time will be given at 10, 5 and 1 min. You may not use the packet itself, the enclosed number slip or this sheet.

2. Using any combination of the materials in this packet, and only materials in this packet, create a capsule that will house and protect your egg and be used to bowl over pins in the Bowl-a-rama-swingy-thing. You do not need to use all items in your packet but You must install the eye hook in your Egg Capsule to connect to the Rope during judging.

3. Once time is called, the egg-capsule will need to be moved to a display table. Please apply your number to the structure at this time. Once time is called no modifications can be made.

4. Teams are allowed to review the Bowl-a-rama-swingy-thing during the build process.

JUDGING:
Teams will Bowl in numeric order. One person from the team will attach their egg-capsule to the hook on the end of the swing structures rope. The Rope can be adjusted to desired height.
Teams will get 2 frames: a frame consists of 2 shots at the rack of pins. To make a shot the Egg-Capsule must be released above the marker stick. The Egg-Capsule will swing through the pin area. The goal is to knock over as many pins as possible. The second team member must catch the egg-capsule before it swings back through the pin area. If the Egg-capsule contacts a pin on the back swing the team gets a “0” for the frame. If all pins are knocked down on the first shot of the frame (A Strike) the pins will be re-racked for the second shot. At the end of 2 throws, the score is noted and the pins are re-racked. Teammates switch places and bowl a second frame. The total for 2 frames is recorded as the team’s final score. The Best Total Score would be 40 points.
At the end of the second frame the egg is checked for breakage. If the egg is cracked or broken the Team is disqualified. If any time during your turn the egg falls out of the capsule the team is disqualified.
