Stay in The LOOP. Watch for breaking news surrounding L.O. Transmitted from the
P.R. firm of TRANS-CONTINENTAL EGG TOSS CHAMPION TO COME TO LO 2002 TO DEFEND HIS 2000 EGG TOSS TITLE Los Angeles, CA - June 10, 2002 - Today the International Egg Toss Players Association (IETPA)and Egg Toss Sports Management Group, agent for the athlete, announced that its legendary member, Mark Tresedar, has decided to return to the venue of his 2000 victory and defend his Olympic Egg Toss title. This announcement comes only weeks before the opening ceremonies of Lawn Olympics 2002 are to be held at its traditional site at Riverside in Portland, Maine. Mr. Tresedar is coming off what has been a tremendous start to the 2002 Egg Toss season. He has participated in tournaments all over the United States and Europe, as well as attending a UN sanctioned exhibition tournament in Kabul, Afghanistan. Mr. Tresedar commented, "My game has been solid for the past several months. So far this season has gone better than I ever could have expected. I don't believe this amateur event will be much of a challenge given my skills, but it is a good chance to get back east and party with some of the best drinking buds I know. I mean this is a good bash, but compared to the highly competitive arena where I compete in on a professional basis, I am not expecting the competition at LO to add up." In reference to his trip to the Middle East Tresedar continued, "It was an honor to be part of an international contingency bringing our sport to the war-torn country of Afghanistan. I especially enjoyed the exhibition round where all the athletes tossed eggs for accuracy and tried to hit pictures of that one-eyed bastard Omar and his pigeon-toed-thin-lizzy friend Bin Laden. I only wished we were tossing hand grenades!" When contacted for comment, the 2002 LO Organizing Committee said, "We are thrilled to have such a high caliber player attend the Lawn Olympics this year, however, in our eyes we see Mr. Tresedar as just another athlete. This prize will not be just handed to him. He will have to prove himself to do well. Our Competitors train for months getting ready for this day. They drink, run, drink, workout, drink, and ultimately get mentally prepared for the pressures of LO and the big day of events. Many of our athletes compete in multiple events, drink and still manage to win Olympic Gold. we question if Tresedar will be up for the long challenging day? Frankly, we will be surprised to see him at LOADed." It looks like the gauntlet has been tossed in the world of egg tossing. It is sure to be a spirited day of competition. |
